About
Yummy Tummies was first thought of in 2008 after the birth of my daughter. My wife and I were lucky enough to use a lovely private hospital in London. It was so lovely I kept on calling it a Hotel rather than a Hospital.
As we left my wife was handed a one page sheet of paper with a couple of exercises on it. Some of these exercises were good, but some were just not suitable. I think I may have offended the person when I asked “Is that it?”…opps.
My wife was in the very lucky position of having me being able to modify and then create a programme specific to her and her state of health post delivery.
However, the more friends I spoke to, the more I realised that there was not a lot of good information out there to help new mums get in shape. It was quite limited and either way too hard or way too basic.
Did you find the same?
So, I began the idea of creating a company to help new mums get back in shape safely but effectively. To provide not only good information but to also educate mums on the safe way of exercising.
However, Yummy Tummies goes beyond just doing a few kegals to strengthen the pelvic floor. It also goes beyond doing a plank to strengthen up your abs.
Yummy Tummies offers you specific exercises to not only strengthen your pelvic floor muscles and deep abdominals, but also get these muscles integrated into the daily movement patterns that you perform on a regular basis. I mean when you are bending over and twisting at the same time to pick up your baby out of the cot 20 times a day, does a seated kegal really help with this?
Yummy Tummies doesn’t just look at exercise. It looks at all of the lifestyle factors that affect overall postnatal health and recovery, and helps you to work on these to give you more energy to cope with the hard work that is being a new mum. Yummy Tummies creator, Lyndon Littlefair, (<<that’s me) has been involved in the fitness industry for over two decades and his approach combines a holistic but scientific method. He knows what works and also what doesn’t for new mums.
Since the official launch of Yummy Tummies in 2014 we have been lucky enough to be voted by Tatler as The Best For Easing Back Into The Gym After Having a Baby.
Lyndon Littlefair, the founder of Yummy Tummies, is also one of the experts for Baby Box University, an educational service provided by The Baby Box Co.
Yummy Tummies is also the go to company for leading Obstetricians at The Portland Hospital, The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital and The Kensington Wing at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
